The first cast of the band was formed in August 2004. At the time none of us supposed that the pilot version of the musical celtic show will arouse such intense spectators’ interest and will allow us to develop this topic seriously in Russia on a national scale.

The season of 2004-2005 was marked by participation of Moscow & District Pipe Band in the main ethno-musical festivals of Moscow and Moscow region. At the same time the band was invited to participate in programs, presentations and corporate events by different Moscow concert agencies. Meanwhile active work on the repertoire extension and постановками pectacular shows staging was carried out together with Scottish dance school «Shady Glen» and the club of historical reconstruction “Silver Wolf”. The 2005-2007 seasons were occupied by the similar preparatory work.

• Grand Opening ceremony of the exposition “Masters. Technology and skill of Russian builders in XV-XIX centuries” in the Atrium of the Fund depository, “Kolomenskoe” open-air museum

• Opening of the shopping center “Shchuka”

In September 2007 Moscow & District Pipe Band participated in the municipal programs within the scope of the International military bands festival “Kremlin Zoria”. Performance in Moscow park “Hermitage Garden” together with the Central Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Royal Scots Borderers Pipes and Drums, Highlanders 4th battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland Pipes & Drums, Australian Federal Police Pipes & Drums.

Subsequently proposal concerning creation of joint musical programs was received from the management of the Central Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The results of this collaboration are: the performance on the gala night, dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the General Staff Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, participation in the ceremony of Andrey Pervozvanny Fund rewarding in the Kremlin Palace of Congresses, the solemn celebration of the 245th anniversary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

At present time we continue to collaborate productively with the Central Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. In addition to this, Moscow & District Pipe Band extends its repertoire and works actively at introduction of new musicians into the band in order to expand the group and to make our performances even more entertaining and large-scale.
